Thank you for contributive this for everyone to see. Amerindic community locations along the Enitachopco and it's machine streams is of special percentage to me. We untaped retributory a few hundred yards off the Enitachopco and Lynch Watercourse runs finished our conception. Sometime in the 40?s or 50?s there was a wee site of what amounted to a rabble collection on our conception along Lynch Creek, approximately 1 knot upstream from it's conflux with the Enitachopco. It was unionized and complete by a forgather from the Lincoln of Muskhogean. I don't think anything of bailiwick signifigance was plant, at littlest that I am sensible of.

I came upon this article and enjoyed it thoroughly. I did my family ancestry last year and found out that Colonel Gideon Morgan, Jr's father is my 6th generation grandfather. I have tried to find a picture of some sorts, but to no avail, I've come up empty handed. Didn't know if it were possible to get your help. I thought that it couldn't hurt to ask. I'm so proud of this history and the heart and soul of each of the men that fought so proudly.
                                  Sincerely, Shelia Foster

I am currently employed with Jacksonville State University's Archaeological Resource Lab, and being from Clay County; I am extremely interested in actually locating these battle sites precisely. From all I have gathered, there are only round-about ideas of where they actually took place. I have done some independant research and believe I have it narrowed down a litte more than what is currently out there--that I have come across that is. I would like to know what sources Mr. East used for his research as to compare notes and see if there may be additional routes I can take to further my investigation. Great article and thank you for any help.

In my original comment I wasn't so sure if there was or wasn't, at some time in Alabama History, a Wilson County. For example, in 1821 there was a Decatur County, created out of a part of Jackson County and in 1824 it was abolished and taken in as part of Madison County. I thought it could be something like that. Anyway I appreciate the kind words.
I searched and found this site after comments about the Battle of Horseshoe Bend from a neighbor of mine, and during the conversation I told him that I was born in Moulton, where I lived (in the country near) most of my life before moving to Huntsville and That Moulton got it's name from a HERO of the Battle of Horseshoe Bend. Later I read the article to my neighbor, who's eyes prohibit him from reading it himself. He enjoyed it as much as I did.
This is an excellent article, full of facts, wonderful stories of some of the real 'heavyweights' of American History and it happened here in our state. Thank you Mr. East and Mr. Richard

On Jan 31st I called your attention to the use of Wilson County, Alabama (which doesn't exist) and since, the text has been changed to Wilcox County, Alabama. Now my comments appear to call attention to an error that doesn't exist. In fairness to me don't you think that you should acknowledge the correction or delete my comment. Thank you very much.

Alton; Thanks for the sharp eyed catch of my error. It was a typing error and should have been WILCOX vice WILSON. and the last name of the soldier should be WILCOX vice WILSON. We will get it changed and thanks for catching the error. Don East.
