Having hired Austin for the first time several years ago (and had him back every year since) for our Christmas show, he made it a special evening for a lot of people.......he evaluated the crowd and tailored his show to be exactly what we needed. He sang Christmas carols with the kids, he played love songs for our "anniversary couple", he told "audience appropriate" jokes, and played some of my favorite AC tunes.

The next morning in church, people were telling me how they enjoyed the evening. Austin definitely made some new friends (and fans) in Wichita Falls. Even my dad, who usually doesn't like "younger" country singers, bought all three of Austin's CDs.

In my original comment I wasn't so sure if there was or wasn't, at some time in Alabama History, a Wilson County. For example, in 1821 there was a Decatur County, created out of a part of Jackson County and in 1824 it was abolished and taken in as part of Madison County. I thought it could be something like that. Anyway I appreciate the kind words.
I searched and found this site after comments about the Battle of Horseshoe Bend from a neighbor of mine, and during the conversation I told him that I was born in Moulton, where I lived (in the country near) most of my life before moving to Huntsville and That Moulton got it's name from a HERO of the Battle of Horseshoe Bend. Later I read the article to my neighbor, who's eyes prohibit him from reading it himself. He enjoyed it as much as I did.
This is an excellent article, full of facts, wonderful stories of some of the real 'heavyweights' of American History and it happened here in our state. Thank you Mr. East and Mr. Richard

On Jan 31st I called your attention to the use of Wilson County, Alabama (which doesn't exist) and since, the text has been changed to Wilcox County, Alabama. Now my comments appear to call attention to an error that doesn't exist. In fairness to me don't you think that you should acknowledge the correction or delete my comment. Thank you very much.

Alton; Thanks for the sharp eyed catch of my error. It was a typing error and should have been WILCOX vice WILSON. and the last name of the soldier should be WILCOX vice WILSON. We will get it changed and thanks for catching the error. Don East.

Sheila - if you're speaking of the little girl grave, it is here - just scroll down on the History page. If it is something else, I'm not sure. I maintain the Chamber website and I have not deleted anything as far as history goes.
