"In and Around Clay County" Pix of Clay County flora and architecture. All these pictures were taken in Clay County by Penelope Vaughan using an Olympus Evolt 500. This set of pix are a variety of things seen in Clay County this time of year. This time I went also for some local architecture, the Court House. I wanted to capture the courthouse in ways I have not seen, black and white and at night. I also captured some Clay County spring flora blooming in and around towns, as well as some local insects and reptiles. The snake is a juvenile Gray Rat snake, great for ridding yards of mice and rats. This is a non venomous snake. The butterfly picture is a Swallowtail lit upon a blooming Azalea.

On April 11, we came to Clay County for the “Second Saturday on the Ashland Square” and to visit my friend’s grandmother’s old homeplace. We had a great time while there renewing old acquaintances and meeting new friends. This is a picture that was made at Rays Crossroads (CR 5 and CR 34). I only had a Casio Exilim camera in my purse, but still got some photos of Clay County. Nancy Maners Clanton, AL 35045
